Srinagar: Amid surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths, Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered 03 FIR and arrested 19 violators, and also realised fine to the tune of Rs 1,62,100/- from 1572 violators. Moreover 36 vehicles were also seized for violating COVID- norms in Shopian and Bandipora in the last 24 hours in Kashmir for defying the prevailing lockdown restrictions aimed at containing the disease transmission.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that it is taking all measures to implement strict lockdown restriction announced by the government for containing community transmission of the covid -19 pandemic.
Stating that the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued in almost all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic, police in the concluded para of its above referred statement appealed people to cooperate with them in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people. Police in its statement also reiterated that the special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
