GDC Paloura holds webinar on financial awareness

Jammu: Government Degree College Paloura, Jammu in collaboration with NSE and CafeMutual Mumbai, organised a Webinar on Financial awareness for the faculty and students of the college.
Raghunandan Pattanaik, National Trainer- BFSI was the resource person on the occasion. He started his lecture with information regarding SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) which monitors and regulates the Indian Capital and Securities Market and also protects the interests of the investors. Discussing “SCORES” – the complaints redress system of SEBI, he informed that investors can get their issues resolved here. Further, he discussed at length how one can carefully do investment planning for the future by moving forward from traditional to modern investment and create wealth.
The audience was made aware about the importance of investments with respect to financial goals like – Dream House, Children Education, Wedding, Healthcare etc. He also shared the information regarding investment strategies for beginners, investment in government bonds, government securities, gold, SIP’s etc. The queries of the participants were resolved by the resource person in a satisfactory manner. The programme was organised by Manodarpan team of the college, which included Prof Pooja Sharma (Coordinator Career Counselling Cell) Prof Vishal Magotra (Coordinator Placement Cell) and Prof Shivani Sharma (Coordinator Psychological Counselling Cell). The whole programme was held under the overall supervision and guidance of Prof Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college. She appreciated the efforts put in by the Manodarpan team of college for organising such an awareness programme.
