Kupwara: The Vice Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir Monday said that peace and prosperity is the basic requirement for carrying out development in far flung areas like Kupwara especially Lolab valley.
The Vice Chairman said this while inaugurating the macadamization of Shalgund-Saiwan road under PMGSY in presence of concerned officers.
He also attended the restart work of Wavoora-Rang Warnow road which was pending for the last 3 years.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chairman thanked the Union Minister of Roads & Highways for his great concern to the long pending demand of the people of the area which was left behind unnoticed. He also expressed his gratitude to Chief Engineer and Deputy Commissioner Kupwara for their wholehearted support to meet the demand of the people of this area.
Haji Farooq directed the concerned engineers to ensure completion of the road before October 2021 so that people of the Lolab cannot suffer any more. He further said that all possible efforts shall be made to connect all village link roads with the main road and develop Lolab as a model constituency in the whole of J&K.
