DDC Shopian reviews progress of works under Distt Capex Budget

Shopian: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Monday chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of works under District Capex Budget at Mini Secretariat here.
The meeting discussed threadbare District Capex Budget to cater the developmental needs of the district with focus on strengthening grassroots level democracy. Proposal under the District Capex Plan, physical status of projects targeted for completion in the year 2020-21, status and progress of works under MGNREGA, 14thFC, and other schemes were also discussed.
The DDC also took a comprehensive review on the progress of developmental projects undertaken by Rural Development, Education, Health, KPDCL, Jal Shakti, PWD and other sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed on the concerned authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of various ongoing works on different projects for their time-bound completion.
He emphasized on completion of all the pending works on priority so that the aspirations of the public are met. He also cautioned that any kind of laxity in completing the works within a fixed time line will not be tolerated at all.
He exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for completing the projects in stipulated time frame besides urged to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.
Meanwhile, various issues and bottlenecks impeding the completion of projects were also highlighted by the concerned officers and sought the speedy disposal of these issues.
The DDC directed all the executing agencies to take up the new projects/schemes for execution and asked the intending departments to submit the weekly progress report of the works to the DC Office.
While reviewing the progress of construction and upgradation of roads in the district, the DDC directed the executing agencies to ensure timely completion of these roads.
Among others, ADDC, CPO, CEO, CMO, Ex. Engineers of R&B, Jal Shakti, Irrigation and Block Manager besides BDOs, NRLM and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
