Srinagar: Police in Anantnag on Monday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Monday police said that Police party from Police Post Janglat Mandi led by DO Janaglat Mandi at a checkpoint established near Shawala Mandir intercepted an Alto car bearing chassis No: 0869 with three persons on board identified as Shakir Ahmad Naikoo son of Farooq Ahmad Naikoo resident of Bulbul Nowgam, Mudasir Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Yaqoob Dar and Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar both residents of Brakpora, Anantnag”. The police statement further said that however during checking 50 Codeine phosphate bottles were recovered from the possession of the above named accused who it said were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was also seized.
