DC Ang visits Covid Hospital Bijbehara, various vaccination sites

Anantnag: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla Saturday visited various hospitals and vaccination sites of the district and reviewed their functioning.
At Covid Hospital (Trauma Hospital) Bijbihara, the DC took stock of the treatment of covid patients besides other facilities being provided to them. He directed the concerned officials to ensure quality treatment to the covid patients as per standard protocol besides regularly monitoring the functioning of the 500 LPM capacity oxygen plant installed there.
Dr. Singla also visited the SDH Bijbehara and UPHC Donipawa and reviewed the ongoing vaccination process at these sites.
While briefing on vaccination status of the district, the DC said 2.20 lac doses have been inoculated and the process is going on with full intensity across the district. He informed that the teams of health and line departments have been mobilised and they are working with full dedication on ground besides reaching to eligible people living in far off places and hilly areas of the district.
Dr. Singla further said that the district has vaccinated 63 percent of the above 45 year priority population with one dose and the target is to inoculate the rest within the coming weeks.
Besides, senior officers of administration and health dept are supervising the vaccination and testing/sampling processes on ground and ramped up testing process and timely isolation of the positive cases have helped in bringing down the positivity rate, he added.
The DC appealed to the people not to get complacent over the improving situation and advised them to strictly follow the Covid SOPs and restrictions issued by the administration to contain the Pandemic.
