Srinagar: Budgam Police along with Wildlife Department & civilians on Friday recovered the body of missing four years old girl who went missing yesterday evening in Ompora area of Budgam.
In a statement issued here on Friday police said “Budgam Police received information that one four year old girl namely Adda Mir daughter of Mir Yasir resident of Ompora Budgam went missing Thursday evening this week wgen she was playing with local children and it was believed that she has been attacked and taken away by some wild animal (probably leopard)”.
Stating that after receiving the information, Budgam Police together with locals & Wildlife Department constituted various teams for tracing the girl and the search operation continued throughout the entire night by using search lights, Police in its statement said it also used sniffing dogs for tracing the girl amid dense bushy nursery situated in the locality.
Police in int’s statement further said that after massive searches, teams Police, and Wildlife Department and locals recovered the mauled body of the girl in the nearby bushy nursery of Ompora. “Preliminary investigation suggests that the girl has been attacked and mauled by some wild animal (probably Leopard)”, reads the police statement, adding that “dead body has been handed over to parents for last rites”.
