Srinagar: Police in Budgam on Wednesday said that it has solved the hit and run case by arresting the accused within 72 hours after the accident .
In a statement issued here on Wednesday police said “Police Post Pakherpora on 30th May received information that a motorcycle bearing registration no JK04D-3274 driven by one Muzaffar Ahmad Lone (25) was hit by an unknown vehicle near Futlipora Pakharpora and the driver of the vehicle fled away from spot along with the vehicle following which the injured person succumbed to his injuries while on way to hospital”.
Stating that a case vide FIR number 56/2012 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Charisharief and investigation was taken up, police in the above referred statement further said that during investigation, various suspects were summoned and questioned which subsequently led to some clues.
Saying that after strenuous efforts investigation officers intercepted the involved accused and subsequently arrested from Shopian area within 72 hours, Police in its above referred statement further said that the accused has been identified as Jehangir Ahmad Dar Son in Law of Ali Mohd Hajam resident of Gulshanabad Charisharief and the vehicle Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK03F-5883 involved in the commission of offence has also been seized. Further investigation of the case, according to the police statement is in progress.
