Srinagar: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammed Aijaz Asad accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police, Sandeep Chowdhury Wednesday visited various notified Covid Containment Zones in Srinagar and took first hand appraisal of the implementation of SOPs in the containment zone.
The DC visited containment zones at Munawarabad, Khayam and other adjoining areas and inspected various entry/exit points, besides identified some entries in the zone which could be used by the people living in the containment zone to move out.
The DC directed the concerned authorities to ensure strict restrictions at all entry and exist points in the containment zones. He directed them to restrict every kind of movement and said that only essential movements shall be permitted in the zone which shall be allowed by the district administration.
The DC also appealed the residents in the containment zone to cooperate with the administration and restrict their movement for the safety and wellbeing of all citizens.
During the visit the DC was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Syed Hanief Balkhi SDM East, Owais Mushtaq, Nodal Officer Covid-19, Masarat Hashim and other officers.
