G’bal: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna Wednesday briefed the media regarding the current Covid scenario in the district at Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat here.
To ensure completion of vaccination for 18-44 years of age at an earliest and keeping in view the demand for establishment of more session sites, the DC said that more 10 sites are activated at different locations in the district which include District Hospital, PHC Sonamarg, PHC Kachan, PHC Tulmulla, PHC shuhama, NTPHC Gutlibag, PHC Kulan, PHC Batwina, PHC Ganiwan and PHC Manigam thus taking total number of vaccination sites to 15 in the district.
She urged people falling in between the age of 18-44 years to visit these centers and get the first dose of vaccination which is a prerequisite for saving themselves from Covid pandemic.
Giving details on establishment of 5 bedded Isolation Facility in each panchayat, Jyotsna said that in all 126 panchayats of the district the facility is fully established with all required facilities including Covid Management Kit, basic medicines and other essential instruments for better management of Covid patients. RAT testing facility is also available at these centres, she added.
The DC said that the people who are symptomatic and lack isolation facilities at their homes can be shifted and taken care of at these centres to curb the spread of virus. She appealed to people who have Covid related symptoms to visit these isolation centres to get medical advice to save themselves and family as well.
Regarding easing of Corona restrictions in the district, Jyotsna said that though restrictions are eased, but easing of Covid restrictions does not mean that pandemic is over and appealed to people to follow the Covid appropriate behavior strictly as they followed earlier to avoid the resurgence of pandemic.
