Budgam: Deputy Commissioner Budgam S.A. Mirza while talking to the media Tuesday in his routine press briefing said that presently there are still about 2232 active cases in the district, adding that till date 9914 patients have recovered. He said the recovery rate has reached 82%. This is a good indicator as the daily reported cases have gone down. He said that the positivity rate has also gone down enormously and it stands now at 4.05%, however, still there is a 34% positivity rate reported from outside containment areas, Mirza said.
He said efforts from all concerned have been doubled in order to tackle Covid-19 pandemic. He further said that Mobilization of General public has been taken on aggressively through constant awareness methods.
Regarding vaccination status, the DC said that vaccine inoculation of the persons aging 45 and above is going on and till date about 75% target under this group has been achieved. He said now the focus of district administration is to vaccinate the persons of the age of 18 and above that is going on in full swing at all designated 36 session sites. The DC once again appealed to the general public to follow all SOP’s and other guidelines strictly as our district is under Red zone category that compels the administration to impose restrictions strictly wherever these are necessitated, particularly containment zones shall remain in main attention.
Regarding relaxation, the DC clarified that adherence of all guidelines and SOP’s, markets in the district shall follow rotation pattern and 33% shops shall remain open with one open shop out of three on alternate basis. However, stand alone shops shall remain open in 2 session daily. Regarding stand alone shops located in rural areas, he said they shall remain open daily. He said that there shall be complete Corona curfew on Saturdays and Sundays, however, shopkeepers affiliated with essential service trade as already notified are exempted from the restriction provided he added.
