Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Monday asserted that sloppy disposition of divisional administration has left people yearning for basic facilities saying that administration has miserably failed to ensure basic facilities to people.
Party central Secretary and Former MLA Batamaloo Irfan Shah while making stopovers at various places in Batamaloo constituency interacted with the people, who apprised him about various issues concerning them. Shah, who toured Mujgund, Batamaloo, Qamarwari localities was apprised by the local residents about the slack attitude of the incumbent administration in mitigating their problems particularly crumbling road surfaces and on availability of water and electricity.
“There is no accountability on ground; the fate of the vital projects which were initiated during the NC led government has been put into a limbo. The incumbent administration, unaware of the development needs of the city has let people fend for themselves. People particularly those at the base of the socio-economic pyramid are at the receiving end due to Covid induced problems. What is compounding the issues is the absence of any inclusive Covid sustenance relief to affected. Batamaloo constituency, despite housing all vital government installations and being a business hub, has unfortunately been left unattended all these years. The district administration and concerned agencies have miserably failed to upkeep the community halls, parks and other vital infrastructure of public importance in the area. Shortage of ration, and other essentials is severely being felt across in urban, semi urban and rural areas. The lanes, bilanes are dotted with potholes and the black topping on almost all interior routes has worn out, making it unfit for smooth public commute. Wherever I went, I was apprised by people that nobody from administration is taking first hand appraisal of their developmental concerns,” Shah said. He appealed the government to ensure all effective civic amenities to people in Batamaloo, Mujugund, Qamarwari areas. He also impressed upon the administration to augment road infrastructure in the constituency.
