6 drug peddlers in Budgam , Handwara : Police

Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested six peddlers in in Budgam and Handwara districts.
In a statement issued here on Monday police said that during the night intervening May 27 and May 28 this year Police Station Magam registered a case FIR No. 104/2021 in which hideout of drugs was busted with recovery of 10,128 Spasmoproxyvon capsules, but 03 notorious drug peddlers involved in the said case were evading their arrest.
Stating that during the course of investigation, while acting on specific information officers from Police Station Magam arrested all the three drug peddlers from Krishbal Noorbagh area of District Srinagar within 48hrs of recovery and have been identified as Zubair Ahmad Mir @Zubair Galwan son of Bashir Ahmad Mir, Sarjeel Ahmad Mir son of Jalalu-din-Mir residents of Mazhama and Bilal Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Lalpora Kunzer, police in it’s statement further said that the above named peddlers formal arrested were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Saying that in a similar incident in Handwara a police party from Police Station Vilgam at a checkpoint established at Dohama crossing intercepted a tractor bearing registration number JK09A-8316 with two persons on board identified as Javid Ahmad Sheik, Danish Ahmad Sheik both sons Mohammad Akbar Sheik resident of Dohama Vilgam, police in it’s statement said that during checking 650gms poppy straw, 30gms Charas and cash amount of Rs.8970/- were recovered from the possession of above named accused following which they were formally arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement further said that similarly, another police party from Police Station Vilagam at a checkpoint established at Manzgam intercepted a person identified as Munner Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Ahmad Khan resident of Manzgam and upon searches 30gms Charas and cash amount of Rs. 3800/- were recovered from his his possession after which he was formally arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
