Jammu: Police in Jammu on Sunday said that it has arrested a hardcore criminal with weapons in Mirn Sahib area of Jammu district.
In a statement issued on Sunday police said “a hardcore criminal who was earlier arrested twice in narcotics cases has been arrested again in Miran Sahib area”.
Police in the above referred statement said “Information was received through reliable sources that the person namely Jai preet Singh S/O Joginder Singh R/O Preet Nagar Digiana was carrying some narcotic substance following which special police teams of P/S Miran Sahib under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan were constituted”.
Stating that the team led by SHO P/S Miran Sahib Inspr. Mirza Sultan assisted by SHO P/S Satwari Inspr. Deepak Jasrotia laid a special naka at Balol bridge and zeroed on the accused and during searches one Pistol along with heroin type substance was recovered from him and a vehicle bearing no. PB11BU-5133 was also seized, police in it’s statement said “a case FIR no 60/2021 U/S 3/25 Arms Act, 8/21 NDPS Act, 51 Disaster Management Act was registered against the accused and investigation was set into motion”, adding that “during sustained questioning on his disclosure 36 bottles of liquor were also recovered and seized which were smuggled from outside state. In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that the whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SP headquarters Ramnish Gupta and further investigation of the case is going on.
