Kulgam: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Sunday inspected several vaccination centers and camps in the district to take stock of the ongoing vaccination process.
During the visit, the DC inspected vaccination centers/sites at Amnoo, Chawalgam, Katrasoo, Behibagh and other centers in the district.
He also personally went door to door to mobilize and motivate people to get vaccinated.
On the occasion, the DC interacted with the people and urged them not to pay heed to rumours and fake news regarding vaccines and appealed to them to get vaccinated at an earliest.
He termed vaccines safe, effective and potent weapon to defeat the virus.
It was also informed that 70 percent population above the age group of 45 stands vaccinated in the district, and all requisite arrangements are in place to achieve cent percent vaccination of this group and the same shall be achieved within days.
Meanwhile, modalities to vaccinate people ranging in age group of 18-44 age have been reviewed and the process will be kick started soon.
