Srinagar: Police in Kulgam on Sunday said that it has foiled a burglary attempt by arresting two burglars and seized tools used for committing the burglary.
In a statement issued here on Sunday police said that during the night intervening May 29 and May 30, a specific information was received by Kulgam Police through reliable sources about the suspicious movement of some persons at Malpora Chowk area falling under the jurisdiction of PS Qazigund”.
Stating that on receipt of this information, Police party from Police Post Mirbazar along with locals of Malpora reached the suspected spot and apprehended two burglars red handed as they were breaking the wall of a shop, police in it’s statement further said “the said burglars were identified as Rameez Ahmad Naik son of Ghulam Mohammad Naik and Sumbhool Ahmad Yatoo son of Abdul Majeed Yatoo both residents of Gufbal Qaimoh and the tools used for committing the crime were also seized by the Police” adding that “ the burglars were shifted to police station where they remain in custody”.
Police in it’s statement also said that a case vide FIR No. 120/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation is going on.
