Srinagar: Police said on Sunday that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Bandipora and Kulgam districts and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Sunday police said “ In Bandipora, officers from Police Station Bandipora at a checkpoint established near Nishat Park Bandipora intercepted two persons identified as Raqib Ahmad Nadaf resident of Nebripora and Mir Raja resident of Nowpora Naz Colony Bandipora and upon checking recovered 414 Spasmoproxyvan capsules from their possession after which they were arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody”, stating therein further that a case vide FIR No.79/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bandipora and investigation was also initiated.
Stating that in a similar incident in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district a police party from Police Station Qazigund headed by SHO PS Qazigund during patrolling at Bonigam Qazigund NHW intercepted a person identified as Rajesh Singh son of Piyar Singh resident of Dogra Kud, Udhampur and upon checking 500 grams of poppy Straw were recovered from his possession after which he was formally arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, police in it’s statement also said that a case vide FIR No.119/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been initiated.
