One absconder evading arrest for last 2 years arrested in R S Pura Jammu : Police

Jammu/May, 30 : Police in Jammu on Sunday said that it has arrested one absconder who was evading arrest for the last two years in R S Pura area of Jammu district.
In a statement issued on Sunday police said “a hardcore criminal cum absconder namely Davinder Kumar @Rahul S/O Darshan Lal R/O Chak Mohd Yar RS Pura who was evading his arrest since two years in cases FIR No 96/21 U/S 458, 427, 336, 504, 506, 147, 148, IPC 4/25 A Act and case FIR No 03/2019 U/S 307, 341, 323, 147 IPC 4/25 A Act, has been arrested by police station R S Pura Jammu. Previously he was also detained under Public safety Act”.
Police in the above referred statement also said that  the accused is involved in 09 case FIRs ranging from attempt to murder, scuffles, thefts etc.
Stating that Jammu Police was looking for the person from last two years, police in the above referred statement said “an information was received through reliable sources about his movement from Punjab to Jammu”, adding that “acting quickly on the information, special police teams of P/S R S Pura under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura  Shabir Khan were constituted”.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement said ” the team led by I/C SHO P/S RS Pura SI Ranjit Singh assisted by PSI Divanshu Dutt raided the suspected locations and arrested the criminal”, adding that “during search, one sharp edge weapon was also recovered from him”, stating therein that further investigation is going on to enquire about various activities the criminal has been involved into since two years.
