Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Finance and Accounts Society (JAKFA) has welcomed the decision of the Government for appointing Dr.Arun Kumar Mehta, as Chief Secretary.
Dr Mehta’s iconic personality has been successful in bringing about satisfactory levels of transparency by introducing plethora of path-breaking initiatives as Finance Commissioner, Finance Department.
The JAKFA president Rafiq Ahmad said that Dr Mehta is a great reformer and leader who has made a strong contribution to fiscal reforms of J&K. Under his dynamic leadership, the Finance Department has witnessed a plethora of initiatives like introduction of JKPaySys, streamlining of GST, implementation Of e-stamping & e-Gas, digital payments, implementation of GEM, Real-time ledger posting in GP Fund Accounts, path-breaking reforms in J&K Bank, publication of important manuals relating to Budget and Audit. It is a matter of pride that the financial systems in J&K are one of the most transparent systems than anywhere else. He has also been instrumental in bringing the Jammu & Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) at its present stature, which ensured fast track completion of several developmental projects that were languishing for decades.
His integrity and a better grasp of administrative affairs with a focus on proper coordination among the departments will definitely achieve better outcomes in governance.Entire JAKFA society is hopeful that under his able leadership and giving him the highest position in the administration, J&K will flourish to new heights. We are highly thankful for his contributions towards our Fraternity in the Finance Department. Our best wishes are with him and we pray that UT shall usher in an era of peace, prosperity and progress under his dynamic leadership and justice shall also prevail in the administrative system.
