Jammu/May,30 : Police in Jammu on Sunday said that it has recovered 79 bottles of illicit liquor in Gandhinagar area of Jammu city.
In a statement issued on Sunday police said ” an information was received on May,29 at PS Gandhi Nagar through reliable sources that a person namely Kamaljeet Singh @Lamba Sonu S/o Surinder Singh R/o Nanak Nagar Jammu was selling liquor illegally in his home following which a police team of PS Gandhinagar led by SHO PS Gandhinagar Inspr. Bharat Sharma raided the said place and recovered 79 bottles, i.e, 74 bottles of Royal Stag and 5 bottles of M C Dowells Whisky”.
Stating that a case FIR No. 171/2021 U/S 188/269/270 IPC, 48a/50a Excise Act was registered at PS Gandhinagar, police in it’s statement further said that the overall operation was done under the supervision of SDPO South P K Mengi. Police in it’s statement also said that the accused has violated the order of the District Magistrate Jammu and further investigation of the case is going on”.
