Jammu: Police in Jammu on Saturday said that it has seized seven different vehicles involved in illegal mining in Jammu district.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said “acting tough on the menace of illegal mining, a multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police in which police teams of PS Nagrota, PP Sainik Colony, PP Narwal and PP Jourian acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at different locations in their respective areas and seized seven different vehicles involved in illegal mining. Details of the vehicles seized, according to the police statement, are as under:
1) 1 vehicle i.e 1 tractor trolley bearing registration No JK02CG 3930 by PS Nagrota
2) 1 vehicle i.e 1 tractor trolley without Registration No JK02BK 3098 , by PP Sainik Colony
3) 1 vehicle i.e 1 dumper without registration No, by PP Narwal
4) 4 vehicles i.e 4 tractor trollies without registration Nos by PP Jourian
In the concluding para of it’s above referred statement police said “the mining was done in violation of order of Hon’ble High Court of J&k. In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law Jammu Police has initiated strict action”.
