Jammu: Police in a statement on Saturday said that “ it has rescured 24 bovine animals in Nagrota area of Jammu district.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said “ Continuing it’s drive against bovine smuggling, Jammu Police has rescued 27 bovine animals at Ban Toll Plaza naka and also seized two vehicles bearing Registration Nos.JK02 AJ/4665, JK01X/7476 “.
Stating that in this regard, two different cases FIR. No. 228/2021 and FIR. No. 229/2021 under relevant section of law got registered in police station Nagrota and accused was arrested, police in it’s statement said that the accused were arrested and identified as Abdul Nabi S/O Abdul Kareem R/O Tandan Nagrota, and Mushtaq Ahmed S/O Azeem Bakerwal R/O Peera Ramban, both arrested by PS Nagrota.
“The overall arrest and recoveries have been made by SHO P/S Nagrota Inspr. Mohd Showkat under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Sh. Parupkar Singh. Further investigation of the case is going on” reads the police statement, adding that “District Police Jammu is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace”
