Illicit timber seized in Dalri Rafiabad: Police

Srinagar: Police in Sopore on Thursday said that it has seized illicit timber from village Dalri Rafiabad area of Sopore.
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said “acting on specific information about timber smuggling a police party from Police Station Dangiwacha led by SHO PS Dangiwacha under the close supervision of SDPO Rafiabad raided a particular spot and seized 8 logs of illicit timber from the house of one person namely Tariq Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Rasool Malik resident of Dalri Rafiabad”, said that “ the house owner is presently at large and efforts are on to effect his arrest”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 105/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation into the matter has been initiated, police in the concluded para of it’s above referred statement police also reiterated that the drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of Green Gold.
