Srinagar: Police in Anantnag on Thursday along with officials of revenue and excise departments said that they have recovered contraband substances at Krandigham area of Anantnag.
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said that a police party from Police Station Bijbehara led by SHO PS Bijbehara along with officials of revenue and excise departments during the destruction of illegal poppy cultivation at Krandigham recovered 4Kgs of Charas powder and 35Kgs of raw Charas.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 151/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Bijbehara and investigation into the matter has been initiated, police said “ preliminary investigation revealed that the said contraband substances were dumped by three persons identified as Nisar Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Abdul Rehman Bhat son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat and Ghulam Nabi Parra son of Abdul Satar Parra all residents of Krandigham”, adding that “all the three accused persons are presently at large and efforts are on to effect their arrest”.
