Hit and run case solved in Domana Jammu, one accused arrested : Police

Jammu/ May,26 :  Police in Jammu on Wednesday said that it has solved a hit and run case in Dumana area  of Jammu district and arrested one accused in this connection.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said “On April 24 an information was received at PS Domana from reliable sources that one  unknown vehicle coming from Janipur side towards Muthi driven in a rash and negligent manner hit a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CM-0832 and injured rider Manohar Massi S/o Rashid Massi and pillion rider namely Rashid Massi S/o Lal Din Massi both resident of Behllan Mohalla Domana Jammu”. Stating that the injured persons were shifted to GMC Jammu for medical treatment where one of the injured person namely  Rashid Massi  S/o Lal Din R/o Behllan Mohalla Domana succumbed to injuries, police in it’s statement further said ” On this, a case FIR No. 137/2021 U/s 279/337 of IPC was  registered at P/S Domana and investigation started”, adding that ” special police teams of  P/S Domana were constituted under the supervision of SDPO Domana Sh Kousheen Koul”.
Police in it’s statement further said that the  team led by SHO P/S Domana Inspr. Mahesh Sharma after hectic efforts and with the help of CCTV footages of the area arrested the accused driver of the vehicle namely Bharat Bhushan S/o Prem Nath R/o Ladan Power house  Udhampur and his disclosure, vehicle bearing Registration number JK02AW-9689 was also recovered and seized”, stating therein that  “further investigation of the case is going on”.
