Rape accused within hours in Handwara : Police

Srinagar: Police in Handwara on Monday said that they have arrested a person accused of rape within hours after complaint was received.
In a statement issued here on Monday police said that “Police Post Zachaldara on Monday received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his sister was raped by one person namely Parvaiz Ahmad Bajad son of Noor Din resident of Nagranar before two days when she went to collect firewood nearby store and thereafter threatened her not to disclose the incident to anyone”.
Stating that accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 164/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Handwara and investigation was initiated, police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement said that a special team headed by SHO Handwara was constituted to nab the accused. “The police team after utilising all available means and due to strenuous efforts arrested the accused person within hours of complaint received by polic and shifted him to the police station where he remains in custody”.
