Land acquisition court cases: DC Poonch reviews status of filing of objections/replies in HC

Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet Saturday chaired a joint meeting of revenue officers and senior officers of various executing agencies to review the status of filing of objections/replies before the High Court regarding land acquisition cases involving execution of various important government projects in the District.
The status of land acquisition court cases vis a vis filing of replies as well as status of development projects, which are held up on account of stay or injunctions granted by the High Court in favour of litigants were deliberated upon.
Sensing the seriousness of the matter, the Deputy Commissioner, directed the revenue officers to ensure that the replies/objections/compliance report in the cases involving land acquisition are filed before the High Court in a time bound manner to avoid future complicacy .
The revenue officers/ concerned officers of the Executing agencies were directed to contest land acquisition cases reasonably and strongly in the court of law, so that adverse orders are not passed against the official respondents and the development of projects can be completed well in time.
Besides, the revenue authorities/other concerned officers were further directed to strictly comply to High court directions issued from time to time in order to maintain the legal sanctity of the institutions.
Taking strong notice of enquiry ordered by the higher authorities regarding wrong mutation attested in one of the case in Tehsil Mendhar, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned Tehsildar to identify the officials involved in such attestation, beside produce the records related to the matter in order to proceed against them under law.
The legal section of DC office was directed to collect the details/status of other cases pertaining to revenue department pending before the High Court and put up the same before the Deputy Commissioner so that further necessary action with respect to filing of objections could be taken at the earliest.
Similarly, directions were passed to collect details of all the cases related to Revenue Department pending before all the Civil Courts in the District, through concerned Tehsildars so that necessary steps for the early disposal of these cases can be taken.
The DC reiterated for expediting the land acquisition process thereby enabling the concerned agencies to start the physical work on the site. He enjoined upon the concerned functionaries to take calculated measures in resolving land related issues so that overall development of this district do not suffer.
The meeting was attended by ACR Zahir Ahmed Kafi, Tehsildar Mendhar, Head Quarter Asstt to Deputy Commissioner , AEE PWD and AEE Parnai Hydle Project and other officers of revenue department and executing agencies.
