Jammu/ May,23 : Police in Jammu on Sunday said that it has recovered 40 bottles of illicit liquor and arrested on bootlegger at Gangyal in Jammu district.
In a statement issued on Sunday police said several nakas were established by Jammu police and one such naka laid by dedicated team of P/S Gangyal led by SHO P/S Gangyal Inspr. Raghuvir Singh”.
Stating that while on naka duty near Purmandal Morh police teams headed by SHO Gangyal Raghuvir Singh rounded up a suspect namely Joginder Kumar S/O Sukhdev Singh R/O Baroi Upparli, Pathankot, Punjab who was coming in a vehicle bearing Registration No PB35Z-1894 from Bari Brahman side, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that 40 bottles of illicit liquor i.e 02 bottles 750 Ml of Imperial Blue, 10 bottles 750/ML of McDowell’s , 07 bottles 750ML of Punjab Old Fox Rum, 21 bottles 375 ML of Punjab Old Fox Rum were recovered from the illegal possession of the said accused. In the concluding para of it’s statement police said ” case FIR No. 89/21 u/s 48(a)/50/Excise Act got registered at P/S Gangyal and the accused was arrested”, adding that “further investigation of the case is going on”.
