Srinagar: Police in Baramulla on Thursday said that it has recovered a kidnapped minor girl within 12 hours
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said that on May 19 Police Station Uri received a complaint from a person stating therein that his daughter had been kidnapped by one person namely Muneer Ahmad son of Nazeer Ahmad resident of Khamoh Rafiabad following which a case FIR No. 50/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Uri and investigation was initiated.
Stating that during the course of investigation a police team of Police Station Uri recovered the kidnapped girl within 12 hours after the complaint was received in Police Station Uri but the accused person fled away from the spot and entered into a dense forest of Panzalla area, police in it’s statement however said that efforts are on to effect his arrest. “After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Investigation into the matter is in progress”, reads further the police statement.
In the conculed para of its above referred statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood and asked them share information pertaining to social crimes with police, reiterating therein that efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.
