Srinagar: Amid surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths Police has registered a total of 107 FIRs , arrested 216 people and also realized fine of Rs 1,98,190/- from 1469 violators in last 24 hours for defying lockdown restrictions aimed at containing the disease transmission in valley districts.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that it is taking all measures to implement strict lockdown restrictions announced by the government for containing community transmission of the covid -19 pandemic”,
Stating that 107 FIRs were registered and 216 persons were arrested for violating the lockdown announced by the government, Police in its above referred statement also said that 8 vehicles were also seized in Kulgam for violating guidelines/restrictions.
Police in it’s statement also said that special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic.
In the concluded para of its above referred statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people, reiterating therein that special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
