Kupwara: Police in Kupwara on Thursday said that it has arrested two militant associates and recovered 06 live grenades from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said “ acting on specific information regarding movement of militants, a special checkpoint was established by Kupwara Police at main market Kupwara and upon checking, two suspicious persons, who on seeing the search party, tried to escape from the spot were tactfully chased and apprehended by the alert party”.
Stating that the duo were identified as Jahangir Ahmad Hajam son of Mangta Hajam and Ab Hameed Hajam son of Mangta Hajam both residents of Khawarpara Tangdhar, police in it’s statement further said that during searches incriminating materials including six live grenades were recovered from their possession”.
In the concluded para of it’ss above referred statement said that a case vide FIR No. 160/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Kupwara and further investigation has been initiated in this regard.
