B’Pora: A COVID positive lady delivered a healthy child at district hospital Bandipora on Wednesday.
Hospital authorities said that a team of doctors under the overall supervision of Medical Superintendent, Dr Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad, carried surgery on a pregnant COVID-19 positive lady at district hospital Bandipora Wednesday afternoon.
An official said that a COVID positive pregnant lady namely Arifa Begum was referred from Sumbal to District Hospital Bandipora and an emergency LSCS was done as the patient was showing non-progression of Labour. The patient was anaemic and was not having a donor nor could they manage any donor as the patient was badly in need of blood transfusion. As the case was of a precious pregnancy as well as her being anaemic, Medical Superintendent DH Bandipora arranged a donor from his staff who was on night duty and saved the life of both mother and child.
Attendants of the patient while paying gratitude to the Medical Superintendent DH Bandipora, Dr Sheikh Mushtaq said that he is a gem of the health department as both mother and baby are alive because of the efforts put in by the said officer, they said.
Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora while confirming the event said that both mother and baby are in good health.
