Srinagar: Amid surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths Police has on Wednesday said that it has registered a total of 98 FIRs , arrested 232 people and realized fine of Rs 1,49,280/- from 1041 in the last 24 hours across Kashmir.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that it is taking all measures to implement strict lockdown restriction announced by the government for containing community transmission of the covid -19 pandemic, stating therein that 83 FIRs were registered and 232 people were arrested for violating the lockdown announced by the government. Police in it’s statement also said that 111 vehicles were also seized in Shopian, Kulgam, Budgam and Bandipora for violating guidelines/restrictions.
Stating that the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued in all the valley district to ensure strict adherence of people to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic, Police in the concluded para of it’s above referred statement appealed people to cooperate with it in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people. Police in it’s statement also reiterated that special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
