Kulgam: As part of Covid-19 relief announced by Jammu & Kashmir government, the district administration Kulgam Tuesday released an amount of Rs 1.68 crore among construction workers.
Divulging the details Assistant Labour Commissioner Kulgam, Abdul Majid Tantray said that the registered number of construction workers in the district stands 28049, out of which 20083 are active workers at present.
He added that in district Kulgam 16,813 workers have online registration and under the initiative of JK government to provide Covid relief to these active workers an amount of Rs 1.68 crore has been released through DBT mode as first instalment among workers who have online registration.
Payment of registered workers in offline mode will also be released after completing formalities within days, he added.
He also stated that the government is taking due care of the labour class and keeping in view the restrictions that have been put in place to contain Covid-19 infection.
