DC Reasi releases Rs 47 Lakh covid relief for registered Construction workers

Reasi: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Charandeep Singh on Monday released Rs.47.14 Lkah as Covid relief of Rs 1000 each in favour of 4714 registered construction workers of the district.
The relief released for the month of May was disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
The J&K Government has decided to provide an amount of Rs. 1000 per month to each registered Construction workers for two months to help them in absence of work amid the covid lockdown.
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Roopali Gandotra was also present on the occasion.
The financial assistance was provided to eligible worker under the scheme J&K Building and other Construction Welfare Board Scheme.
The DDC directed ALC to generate massive awareness among the construction workers about various schemes being implemented by the labour department in the district and motivate them to avail the benefits of the same. He also directed the ALC to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out from availing the benefits of these welfare schemes meant for the labourers.
