Jammu: Police in Jammu on Monday said that it has seized seven vehicles involved in illegal mining in Jammu district.
In a statement issued on Monday police said “Continuing it’s drive against the menace of illegal mining, a multi-pronged strategy was devised by Jammu Police whereby dedicated police teams of P/S Khour, P/S Jhajjar Kotli, P/S Domana and PP Sainik Colony acted stringently on the specific inputs and raided at different locations in their respective areas and seized seven different vehicles involved in illegal mining. Details of the vehicles seized, according to the police statement, are as under:
1) 1 tractor trollies bearing Registration No. JK02BA 9984 by P/S Domana
2) 2 Tippers bearing Registration No. JK20 2741and JK14B 7329 by P/S Jhajjar Kotli
3) 1 truck bearing registration No. JK0CN-3297 by P/S Khou
4) 3 Tippers bearing Registration Nos. JK02CJ 8224, JK02AN 1848 and JK2IG 5717 by PP Sainik Colony
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said “The mining was done in violation of order of Hon’ble High Court of J&k. In order to strictly implement the drive against illegal mining and to tighten noose against the violators of the law Jammu Police has initiated strict action”.
