Srinagar: Police in Srinagar on Sunday handed over 17 boys to their families after counselling through community bond.
In a statement issued here on Sunday police said “SSP Srinagar Sandeep Chaudhary-IPS on Sunday held counselling cum interaction meeting with the family members of misguided youth. SP South Srinagar Sajjad Shah-JKPS, SP North Srinagar Mubashir Bukhari-JKPS and other officers of the district were also present on the occasion”.
Stating that during the counselling, family members of the boys were advised to take proper care of their wards and keep a watch upon their activities, actions and behaviour, police in it’s statement further said “ the youth were properly counselled and advised to focus on their studies/professional work and utilize their energy in positive direction”, adding that “the family members and the youth duly appreciated this endeavour and acknowledged their role of responsible citizens”.
Police in it’s statement also said that parents assured the officers present on the occasion that they will guide their children towards positive direction so that they could not get engaged in such activities which can lead to spread of infection.
It’s pertinent to mention here that these boys were arrested for participating in protests in violation of Section 51 of DM Act during Corona Curfew.
In the concluded para of it’s statement police said “SSP Srinagar Sandeep Chaudhary once again appealed to the youngsters to concentrate on their studies and career building”.
