Srinagar: Police in Kupwara on Tuesday said that it has arrested one terrorist associate and recovered incriminating material, ammunition and cash from his possession.
A police statement issued on Tuesday said “acting on specific information, Kupwara Police along with 17RR and 160TA established a checkpoint at Reshi Gund Crossing of Village Kralpora and upon checking the joint party arrested a suspicious person who tried to escape from the spot but was tactfully chased and apprehended by the joint party following which he was identified as Abdul Ahad Lone son of Abdul Gani Lone resident of Gararayal Kupwara”.
Stating that during search incriminating materials, ammunition including 12 grenades 182 rounds of AK-47 and cash Rs.169500/- were recovered from his possession, police in it’s statement said “a case FIR No. 30/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralpora and further investigation is in progress”.
