Srinagar: Senior Congress leader and former Member Parliament Tariq Hamid Kara on Saturday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to declare Medical Emergency in the country.
Karra told local news gathering agency KNS that this is the time to stop all mega projects in the country at least for a year, and to divert the funds to strengthen the medical infrastructure of the country.
The pandemic should be the prime focus at the moment, he said.
Saying that 3Fs, funds, facilities and faculty, crucial to fight the covid infection, Karra urged Government to shift 50% of health faculty from “Primary Health Center to Secondary care centre.
“Since the 3rd wave of covid is likely to hit the country, we have to boost our health infrastructure, to tackle the situation,” Karra said.
The people should strictly adhere to Covid19 SoP and other government guidelines, he said.
