Div Com (J) inspects Covid management, control measures in Udhampur

Udhampur: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer Saturday conducted an extensive tour of district Udhampur and inspected the Covid management, vaccination, testing and patient care facilities in Covid Care Centres in the District.
The Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib, SSP, Sargun Shukla, Chief Medical Officer Dr KC Dogra and other concerned officers.
The Div Com chaired a meeting of officers of the health department at the Chief Medical Officer’s Office to review the facilities being provided to inmates in Covid Care Centres.
The Chief Medical Officer gave a detailed account of Covid testing, vaccination, number of COVID- 19 positive cases and Management of patients in the designated hospitals and centres.
The Div Com took a detailed review of the available infrastructure and requisite facilities in the designated Covid Hospitals, Covid Care Centres and the facilitates being provided to Corona positive patients in Home Isolation. The Div Com also took review of sanitation, food quality, drinking water, bedding, and health care facilities in each Covid Care Centre.
He asked the concerned officers to make available adequate amenities in the COVID Centres as per prescribed guidelines. The Div Com also enquired about the status of vaccination, testing, contact tracing, ICU facilities, follow up of isolated patients at home, availability of bedding at designated centers.
He stressed upon the health department to evolve an effective strategy for early detection of COVID positive persons and contact tracing for controlling the spread of the dreaded virus.
Later, the Div Com visited micro containment zone Shiv Nagar Udhampur and inspected the testing there. The Div Com urged the people to cooperate and encourage the frontline workers who are fighting against COVID-19. He appealed to the people to stay in doors, maintain social distance and follow advisories of the health department in letter and spirit.
He also visited covid centre at ITI college and enquired about the status of providing facility to patients like water, Electricity, Sanitation and interacted with nodal officer of Health department. He advised magistrates on duty to ensure that all facilities are provided to inmates so that they feel homely in Covid Care Centres. He stressed on maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene in the Covid Care Centre. He also reviewed the status of timely distribution of food, availability of oxygen concentrator in these centres.
Meanwhile, the Div Com also visited Covid care centre at General Nursing Midwifery School (GNM) at Bailey and inspected the arrangements put in place by administration. He enquired about bedding capacity and other arrangements. The Div Com also visited Command Hospital Udhampur where he interacted with Hospital Authorities. The Div Com obtained feedback regarding the COVID related infrastructure in the Command Hospital and status of RT-PCR testing. Army authorities assured all required cooperation in the ongoing COVID 19 mitigation efforts.
