Srinagar: In view of the record surge in daily cases across the Kashmir Valley, Police on Friday stepped up it’s efforts to implement the Covid-19 guidelines/SOPs/restrictions strictly across Kashmir.
A police statement said that taking action against the violators of covid lockdown police during last 24hrs, Police arrested 43 persons, lodged 12 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of ₹70,010/- from 480 individuals for violating the guidelines/rules throughout Kashmir valley. Police also said that 24 vehicles were also seized in Budgam and Baramulla for violating Covid-19 norms.
“The special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic” reads the police statement.
Stating that in Shopian, Police also made announcements via loudspeaker, wherein general public were advised to offer Friday prayers at their respective homes in order to avoid gatherings, so that the Covid-19 may be contained, police in the concluding para of it’s statement appealed people to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/guidelines/protocols for the safety of the people, reiterating therein that special drive shall continue across Kashmir to strengthen the safety measures.
