Srinagar/May, 7: In an appeal to Advisor, Chief Secretary, Commissioner Secretary and Directors of FCS&CA Deptt Jammu and Kashmir, the Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee (EJCC) Aijaz Ahmad Khan has sought inclusion of the Employees of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA)deparment  including Storekeepers, Fair Price Shop dealers and Hamals working in the Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer affairs in the List of “Covid Warriors”.
In a statement issued on Friday Aijaz Ahmad Khan the Chairman Employees Joint Consultative Committee Kashmir and the President CAPD Employees Association Kashmir has said that though field officials of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department are risking their lives in delivering food grains at the door steps of the rationees  covered under Public Distribution System but their services are ignored even when they work in challenging situations.
Stating that time has come to acknowledge the efforts of FCS& CA department’s  field staff, who without caring for their lives feed the People of Jammu and Kashmir in this deadly wave of Covid-19, Khan said  “employees, Storekeepers, Fair Price Shop dealers and Hamals are working tirelessly under the banner of National Food Security  (NFSA) and have been delivering the ration to the door steps of consumers with full transparency”.
Saying that even the red zones or containment Zones are taken care of by them in these tough times of deadliest second wave of Coronavirus Pandemic, but the workers risking their live amid covid pandemic are not treated as “Covid Warriors”, Khan said  “god Forbid, if the fatality continues , their families will be left with no support in these crucial times and keeping in view the prevailing situation these warriors should be given the risk allowance for risking these lives during the second strain of the covid-19 pandemic”.
Khan appealed  Advisor Incharge Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA),  Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam, Commissioner Secretary Zubair Ahmad and both the Directors of the Department of FCS&CA Jammu and Kashmir to include all these workers of the Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department  in the list of “Covid Warriors”  and subsequently announced the risk allowance in favour of these field officials of the Department.
