Advisor Khan visits Udhampur, reviews COVID control measures

Srinagar: Advisor to lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, Wednesday conducted an extensive visit of District Hospital Udhampur to review the current scenario of COVID-19 arrangements in the district.
Advisor interacted with doctors and staff members working in the DH and appreciated their contribution towards containment of the pandemic.
Advisor Khan, while visiting different sections of the hospital, took stock of preparedness of the management towards combating the spread of Corona Virus in the district. He had a detailed review of the available infrastructure and requisite facilities in the designated Covid Health Centres, Covid Care Centres besides taking stock of Home Isolation facility being provided to Corona virus patients. He asked the concerned officers to ensure adequate arrangements in these COVID Centres as per prescribed guidelines to extend best possible medicare to the ailing.
Advisor also visited oxygen generation plant site and inspected ongoing construction works there. He asked the executing agencies to expedite the pace of progress on these vital works for speedy completion.
Advisor also enquired about the status of vaccination, testing, contact tracing, ICU facilities, follow up of isolated patients at home, availability of bedding capacity at designated centers. He further asked the concerned authorities to assure proper care of COVID-19 infected persons ensuring their early recovery. He stressed upon the health department to evolve an effective strategy for early detection of COVID cases for controlling spread of this dreaded virus.
While reviewing COVID-19 facilities being provided in the designated centres of the district, Advisor Khan asked the officers to ensure strict adherence to all preventive protocols and SOPs regarding the virus while performing their duties to ensure their as well as safety of others. He asked them to intensify efforts to find those who might have come in contact with the suspected cases.
Later, Advisor chaired a meeting of officers of health, police and other allied departments.
Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib, Additional SP, Rajinder Katoch, CPO, Rajeev Bhushan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Giri, Chief Medical Officer, Dr K C Dogra, Chief Agiculture Officer, Subash Sharma, Chief Horticulture Officer, Salil Gupta and AD FCS&CA attended the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner gave a brief about the steps being taken up by the district administration to contain the spread of Corona virus in the district Udhampur.
Advisor appreciated the measures taken by district Administration to enforce Covid appropriate behaviour which is must to prevent the spread of virus.
Advisor also reviewed the status of pension cases in Social Welfare Department besides taking stock of Tribal Model Villages in the district. He also enquired about the status of free ration distribution in the district. He asked the AD FCS&CA for distribution of two month free ration immediately across the district besides asking ALC to update the labourers data.
