Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police arrested 15 persons on Wednesday for violating corona curfew in the central Kashmir district of Budgam.
A police spokesman said Wednesday afternoon that strict corona curfew was being imposed in Budgam district and people are directed to remain indoors.
Shops and business establishments in main business hubs in the district including Arizal, Migund, Hyderpora chowk and main town in the Budgam remained closed, he said, adding police personnel remained deployed to strictly implement the restrictions.
He said police arrested 15 persons for violating the corona curfew and illegal excavation of clay. Besides, he said, 22 vehicles, including 15 dumpers and seven tippers were also seized.
Meanwhile, in Budgam 386 positive cases were reported on Tuesday, when 135 cases were recovered. The district has 2053 active cases while 135 have died since the outbreak of the COVID-19.
