DC Kishtwar conducts surprise market inspection, inspects pace of work on Oxygen plant at DH

Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma, along-with the Senior Superintendent of Police Shafqat Hussain Bhatt, Monday conducted surprise market inspection in Kishtwar town and took stock of the Implementation of the COVID 19 guidelines and SOPs.
During the inspection of town, he urged the shopkeepers to sincerely follow the COVID 19 appropriate behavior, besides seeking the cooperation of the public in the fight against the pandemic.
The DC, along with SSP, also visited District Hospital Kishtwar and inspected the ongoing civil work of Oxygen generation plant and took stock of the COVID19 care facility there.
During the inspection, he directed the officer of executing agency to work in double shifts so as to complete the civil work of the OGP within one week time. The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Dr Parveez Iqbal Wani was asked to ensure the installation of Oxygen generator immediately for the safety of the patients.
The MC apprised that the machinery for oxygen generation plant is on the way and shall reach Kishtwar within a few days. He informed that the same will be installed as soon as OGP hall was completed by the PWD department.
While speaking on the occasion, the DC Kishtwar informed that all the critical care machinery have been placed in by the district administration which includes the preparation of 70 bedded COVID care centres at DH Kishtwar, 150 bedded COVID centre at Chatroo, 100 bedded COVID care centres each at Paddar and Sarthal, while 20 bedded ICU has been established in the DH Kishtwar to deal with critical cases.
Meanwhile, he conducted surprise inspection at various market places including old Bus stand, Gudhali chowk, Hidyal chowk, Bun Astan market, Tapal market etc
He urged the shopkeepers to sincerely follow the COVID 19 appropriate behavior and sought the public cooperation in the effective implementation of guidelines issued by govt for the effective management and containment of COVID19.
He asked SSP to gear up field agencies to ensure the effective implementation of Universal usage of face masks and avoidance of unnecessary gathering at public places besides asked to fine the defaulters.
Besides, the EO Municipal Council Kishtwar was directed to ensure the evacuation of vendors alongside the road and to ensure sanitation and cleanliness of public places.
