DC B’pora reviews Covid-19 isolation facilities across the distt

Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Monday conducted an extensive tour of the district to review the covid19 isolation facilities across the district besides reviewing the other Covid-19 control measures.
The DC visited the designated isolation centres at DRM Public School and Al-Noor College of Education and took stock of the arrangements in place. He called for setting up of Isolation Centres in a ready to use condition and further directed for quick response to meet up any exigency that may occur due to the 2nd wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
It was given out that the district has augmented the isolation facility from 250 beds to 650 beds this year. The DC said that the isolation facilities shall be further increased to 1000 beds in coming days or as per the requirement.
He also reviewed the logistics and facilities available in these centres and asked the officers to ensure adequate arrangements in these isolation Centres as per SOPs prescribed by the government.
Highlighting the importance of close coordination among different agencies of the government involved in the mitigation efforts, he called for effective communication and coordination with control rooms at Divisional, District, Sub-Division and Block Levels to share data and take effective measures in case of any emergency like situation in their respective areas.
The DC also visited District Hospital Bandipora to review the functioning healthcare services to combat the 2nd wave of Covid19 pandemic besides inspecting the healthcare facilities at covid dedicated wards in the hospital.
While taking stock of the functioning and generation capacities of the oxygen plant, Dr Owais directed the concerned to work in coordinated manner to ensure adequate chain of Medical Oxygen including bulk oxygen cylinders to meet any emergent Covid-19 situation.
Later, the DC visited Old District Hospital complex to inspect the functioning of OPD section and other related sections on the first day of its shifting from the new complex in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases.He interacted with the patients and the healthcare workers to get the feedback about the deliverance of healthcare services.
Dr Owais also took stock of the implementation of covid lockdown in the district. He asked the concerned officers to ensure smooth and hassle free delivery of essential services during the ensuing Lockdown and directed the concerned to ensure availability of ration, medicines besides smooth supply of Electricity and Water across the district including in the covid containment zones.
He appealed people to follow strictly all the guidelines and precautions in view of the pandemic and any violation shall invite strict action.
The DC during the visit was accompanied by Divisional Nodal Officer Isolation Dr Waseem Qureshi, Deputy Director Health Services Kashmir, Abdul Rashid, Nodal Officer Isolation Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, Nodal Officer COVID Bandipora, Mehraj Wani, Block Medical Officer Bandipora Dr Masarat Iqbal and other senior officers of the district.
