ACB traps , arrests Principal KendriyaVidyalaya,Doda for accepting bribe

Jammu: The Jammu & Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (J&K ACB) on Monday said that it has arrested Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya Doda for accepting bribe.
A statement issued by the Anti-Corruption Bureau said “ The AntiCorruption Bureau received a complaint against the Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jodhpur, Doda namely Rajeev Kumar Mahajan, who is also Incharge Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bhaderwah wherein it was alleged that the complainant had applied for the issuance of Transfer Certificate (TC) of his minor daughter who is studying in KV Kishtwar, for her transfer from KV Kishtwar to KV Bhaderwah and contacted Principal KV Bhaderwah seeking her transfer”.
Stating that the I/C KV Bhaderwah, Rajeev Kumar Mahajan, kept on delaying matter and demanded Rs. 25,000/- for managing the transfer of his daughter from KV Kishtwar to KV Bhaderwah, the ACB in it’s statement further said that the complainant explained his inability to pay such a huge amount and said principal of KV Bhaderwah agreed on an amount of Rs.15000/- to do the needful and called the complainant to Doda near Post office with the bribe amount.
Disclosing that the complainant approached Anti Corruption Bureau with the complaint of demand of bribe amount and on receipt of the complaint, a case FIR No.01 of 2021 U/S 7 PC Act. 1988 IPC was registered in Police Station ACB Udhampur and investigation was taken up, the ACB in the concluding para of it’s statement said “ a trap team was constituted. The trap was successful. Trap team caught Rajeev Mahajan Principal Kendriya Vidalaya Doda red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant”, adding that “the amount of bribe to the tune of Rs. 15,000/- was also recovered on the spot. He was arrested and taken in custody by ACB team”. “Further investigation of the case is going on”, reads further the ACB statement.
