Srinagar: Police in Kulgam on Thursday said that it has recovered a kidnapped girl and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
A police statement issued on Thursday said “On April 25, PS Manzgam received a complaint from an individual stating therein that his daughter had been kidnapped by an individual namely Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat son of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Shatmuqam Drugmulla, Kupwara following which a case vide FIR No. 23/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Manzgam and investigation was initiated”.
Stating that an investigating team under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora and headed by SHO PS Manzgam was constituted, police in it’s statement further said “acting on specific leads, the team recovered kidnapped girl and arrested the accused person from Kupwara and shifted him to PS Manzgam where he remains in custody”.
Saying that after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs and investigation into the matter is in progress, police in the concluding para of it’s statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood and share information pertaining to social crimes with police, reiterating therein that efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.
