DDC B’gam reviews progress made on languishing projects across distt

Budgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Thursday chaired a meeting to have firsthand appraisal of pace and progress made in respect of languishing projects under execution of various agencies including R&B, JK PCC, JKPHC and SICOP besides Projects under SAMARGA also come into review through a powerpoint presentation.
The meeting was informed that about 39 work projects pertaining to Health, Education, YSS, R&B and Social welfare sectors under languishing schemes involving overall expenditure of Rs 170.84 Cr are presently under execution at a fast pace.
It was given that out of these 39 projects, 29 projects have already been completed, while some projects have also been handed over to the concerned department for onward utilization.
Regarding other remaining projects, it was informed that work is going on at a fast pace as all executing agencies have doubled their resources, efforts in ensuring that the projects under execution are completed within the given time frame.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed all concerned executing agencies to pace up the process of completion work, avoid unnecessary delays, hurdles and put all efforts to mitigate the requirements.
He urged upon all executing agencies to take advantage of the prevailing dry weather period, infusing all efforts, resources, man power, material to ensure given targets are completed well in time.
He said as per the status large chunk of works are affiliated to the facilities to be provided to the health department in terms of under completion, NTPHC, PHCs and other Health Centers relating to other languishing projects.
It was given out that about 80 percent of works stand almost completed on all R&B projects including construction of bridges, improvement and macadamization of roads across the district.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Ex. Engineer of R&B Budgam/Chadoora, CEO Budgam, Ex. Engineer of JKPCC, JKPHC, SAMAGRA, AD Planning and other concerned.
