Vehicle lifter arrested in Janipur Jammu, stolen vehicle recovered : Police

Jammu: Police in Jammu on Thursday said that it has arrested a vehicle lifter in Janipur area of Jammu city and also recovered a stolen vehicle from him.
A statement issued on Thursday said “a complaint was lodged at P/S Janipur by one person namely Vishal Kumar (Driver) S/o Satpaul R/o Thalhar Janipur that his Taxi vehicle Etios bearing Registration No. JK14E 7669 which was parked outside his residence at Janipur, was stolen”.

Stating that Case FIR No. 39/2021 U/s 379 IPC was registered at P/S Janipur and dedicated teams of P/S Janipur under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar were constituted, police in it’s statement further said ” a team led by SHO P/S Janipur Inspr. Nayat Ali after hectic efforts and analysis of CCTV footages of various check points finally nabbed the accused namely Ajaz Ahmad Naqshbandi  S/o Gh. Nabi Naqshbandi R/o Sir Syed Abad Bemina Srinagar”.
Police in it’s statement also said that during sustained questioning accused confessed his involvement in the above case and stolen vehicle was also recovered upon his disclosure. “It is pertinent to mention that accused was a notorious vehicle lifter and Case FIR No. 50/2021 U/S 411/379/482 IPC of  P/S Haryana of Punjab state, Case FIR No. 49/2020 U/S 379 IPC of  P/S Bahu Fort Jammu, Case FIR No. 46/2020 U/S 379 lPC Delhi Rohini Crime Branch and Case FIR No. 31/E Delhi also registered against him”, reads the concluding para of the police statement, adding that “further investigation is going on to ascertain his involvement in any other case”.
